This four-day comprehensive certification training is designed to equip aspiring and practicing Lawyers, Paralegals, Law and College Students, Legal Secretaries, Legal Researchers & Staff, Liaison Officers, Document Specialists, Clerks of Court, Stenographers and Other Court Personnel, Officers and Staff of Legal Departments, Corporate Officers and Employees, Business Owners & Professionals, Officers & Staff in the Private and Public Sectors (Executive, Legislative and Judiciary) with essential skills and foundational knowledge to effectively support legal professionals and participate in legal processes.
Participants will gain knowledge of court structures and legal procedures, learn to draft and review legal documents using Plain English, understand the procedures of civil and criminal cases, alternative dispute resolution processes, small claims process and Katarungan Pambarangay justice. 12. When is the certification exam?
The Core Competency & Assessment Exam will be held on Monday evening, April 13, 2026, after the three-day training program. This gives participants time to review notes and revisit lecture recordings.
The exam will be conducted online via the Virtual Law Companion (VLC’s official Learning Management System). Additional instructions and exam guidelines will be sent to your registered email prior to the exam.
13. What is the exam format and passing score?
The exam is designed to comprehensively test both your knowledge retention and practical application of legal concepts.
Format (delivered through the LMS):
- Preliminaries (30 minutes): Orientation, identity verification, and system check.
- 50 Multiple Choice Questions (1.5 hours):
- Knowledge-based and situational questions covering major topics in civil and criminal procedure, obligations and contracts, ADR, small claims, notarial practice, and legal research.
- 5 Essay-Type Questions (1 hour):
- Each essay is worth 10 points.
- Essays will test your ability to explain legal concepts, apply rules to hypothetical cases, and draft short legal documents (e.g., affidavits, simple contract clauses, or case digests).
Total Duration: 2.5 hours (excluding preliminaries)
Passing Score: 75% overall
- Both MCQs and Essays contribute to the final score.
- Exams will be reviewed and graded by VLC’s Board of Examiners, composed of practicing lawyers and law professors.
14. What type of questions will be included?
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs):
- Test comprehension of topics discussed during the training.
- Includes scenario-based questions where you must choose the most appropriate legal remedy or procedural step.
- Essay Questions:
- Assess reasoning, analysis, and writing skills.
- May require you to:
- Draft or outline a short legal document.
- Explain the steps in a legal procedure.
- Apply a principle of obligations, contracts, or ADR to a problem situation.
15. Exam Mechanics & Integrity Rules
- Exam Platform: The exam will be accessed and completed via the Virtual Law Companion (https://virtuallawcompanion.villasislawcenter.com).
- Identity Verification: You may be required to answer time-sensitive security questions to validate your identity before starting the exam. Please keep your valid ID and enrollment details ready for verification.
- One Device Policy: Each participant must use only one personal device with a stable internet connection.
- Honor Code: By participating, you agree to answer independently, without outside help or unauthorized reference materials.
- Technical Responsibility: Participants are responsible for their own internet connection and equipment. VLC will not provide refunds for technical failures on the participant’s end.
- Exam Day Support: A support team will be available during the exam period for troubleshooting related to LMS access.
- Results Release: Results will be released within 14 business days via email. Successful candidates will be included in the official Roll of Passers and issued their CPP-Level I Certificate and Membership ID.
16. Will passers be recognized?
- Be listed in the official Roll of Passers (CPP Level I).
- Receive a Certificate of Conferment with a QR Code for verification.
- Be granted permission to use the post-nominal “CPP” (e.g., Juan Dela Cruz, CPP).
- Receive a CPP Level 1 Membership ID (valid for 3 years).
17. Is there a retake policy?
- Exam retakes are not allowed.
- Non-passers may re-enroll in a future batch with a 30% discount on both the lecture and exam fee.
18. How long is the certification valid?
- The CPP-Level I Certificate is valid for three (3) years.
- Renewal will require retraining and reassessment to ensure continued competency.
19. What if I lose my certificate or ID?
- A replacement may be issued upon request and the submission of a notarized Affidavit of Loss.
- Processing and reissuance fees may apply.

No. The Certified Paralegal Professional (CPP) program is a professional training certification and not equivalent to a law degree, CHED-recognized program, or PRC-licensed course.

All certifications offered by Villasis Law Center (VLC) are independent certifications of the institution. VLC does not claim accreditation or affiliation with any governmental or non-governmental accrediting body. These certifications are professional certifications and are not equivalent to university diplomas or degrees.
The awarding of certifications is based on the candidate’s successful completion of the prescribed training program and the Core Competency & Assessment Examination.
- No Guarantee of Employment: Possession of a VLC certification does not guarantee employment, promotion, or career advancement.
- Non-Transferable Credits: Certification credits from VLC may not be transferable to CHED, PRC, TESDA, or other academic/professional bodies.
- Continuous Learning: Holders are encouraged to pursue continuing education.
- Validity and Renewal: Certificates are valid for three (3) years and require renewal through retraining and reassessment.
- Independent Study: Participants are responsible for engaging with the study materials and preparing for the exam.
- Local Regulations: Recognition of the certification may vary depending on local or institutional standards.
- Due Diligence: Candidates should assess if the certification suits their professional needs.
- Third-Party Recognition: VLC does not guarantee recognition of certifications by employers, schools, or licensing bodies.
- Non-Accreditation: VLC certifications are not accredited by CHED, PRC, TESDA, or MCLEO.
- Liability Disclaimer: VLC is not liable for any direct or indirect loss or misunderstanding of the nature of its certifications.
23. Terms & Conditions
By enrolling in this program, you agree to the following:
- Non-Refundable Policy: All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. Overpayments may be credited toward future VLC programs.
- Program-Specific Enrollment: Your registration is valid only for the program you selected.
- Schedule Adjustments: VLC reserves the right to adjust schedules as needed, with timely notice sent to your registered email.
- Data Privacy: VLC upholds strict compliance with its Data Privacy Policy. By registering, you consent to the lawful processing of your personal information for enrollment, certification, and program administration. See full text of VLC’s Data Privacy Policy here.
- Use of Study Materials: VLC study materials are proprietary and intended solely for registered participants. Sharing, reproduction, or distribution without authorization is strictly prohibited.
- Learning Management System (LMS) Access: Access credentials are personal and non-transferable. Unauthorized sharing or misuse of login details may result in suspension of access without refund. See full texts of terms and conditions of use of VLC’s learning management system here.
- Exam Consent: By taking the certification exam, you agree to abide by all exam rules, including integrity and confidentiality of test materials.
- Certification Recognition: VLC certifications signify completion of training and examination based on VLC’s standards, not a license to practice law.
- Publication of Passers: By joining, you consent to the publication of your name in the official Roll of Passers if you successfully pass the certification exam.
- Media Consent: During live training or lecture sessions, random screenshots may be taken for documentation and promotional purposes. By enrolling, you consent to the use of your image, name (if displayed), comments, and feedback by Villasis Law Center (VLC) in its official publications, marketing materials, and social media posts. Your participation helps promote VLC’s advocacy for legal literacy and professional growth. If you do not wish your image to be included, you may choose to keep your camera turned off during the sessions.
- Honor Code Policy: Each participant shall use the Zoom ID and password strictly for personal access on one viewing device only. Attendees are responsible for their own internet connection and technical setup. Any technical difficulties on the participant’s end will not be grounds for refund. By registering, you agree to uphold the honor system: only duly paid and registered participants may view the sessions.
24. Can I apply more than one (1) discount?
No. Whichever discount is higher in amount shall be the only discount applied. There shall be NO MULTIPLE APPLICATION of discounts policy.
Likewise, the application of discounts shall only apply in payment in full. Enrollment by installment prohibits the application of any of the discounts.
25. When does the enrollment end?
Our programs shall continue to accept enrollees until slots are filled. We shall announce on our Facebook page and other social media channels if enrollment is about to close.
